Chennai To Host CAHOCON 2026 Conference | 2,500 Healthcare Experts Focus on Patient Safety & Healthcare Quality

Chennai, March 12, 2026: The 10th edition of CAHOCON 2026, India’s premier healthcare quality conference organised by the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO), will be held in Chennai from April 10 to 12, bringing together nearly 2,500 healthcare leaders, clinicians, administrators and policymakers, including more than 200 international delegates. The conference will focus on advancing patient safety, healthcare quality, accreditation and digital transformation.

Guided by the theme ‘Tech. Touch. Trust – The New Healthcare Code’, CAHOCON 2026 will highlight the importance of human connection, reliability and innovation in strengthening healthcare systems. The three-day conference will feature scientific sessions, panel discussions, innovation showcases, poster presentations and networking opportunities aimed at promoting knowledge exchange and best practices in healthcare quality.

The event will also host a large healthcare exhibition with around 150 stalls displaying the latest products and services from medical equipment manufacturers, digital health companies, pharmaceutical firms and healthcare service providers. In addition, three breakout houses will facilitate focused discussions, workshops and interactive learning sessions for participants.

Recognised by the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) as the first ISQua Regional Conference for South Asia, CAHOCON 2026 will feature addresses from 20 ISQua experts. The conference will also present the prestigious CAHO Awards, recognising institutions and professionals who have made outstanding contributions to healthcare quality and patient safety.

Pre-conference workshops scheduled for April 10 will involve 32 leading hospitals from Chennai, offering hands-on training and practical insights into quality improvement and patient safety practices.

Addressing a press meet, Dr. Vijay Agarwal, President of CAHO, said the organisation has grown into a nationwide movement over the past decade, working to strengthen healthcare quality and patient safety through training programmes, accreditation support and collaborative initiatives aimed at embedding quality and safety in everyday healthcare delivery.

Dr. Lallu Joseph, Secretary General of CAHO and AGS & Quality Manager at Christian Medical College, Vellore, said CAHOCON has become one of the most influential platforms in India for advancing healthcare quality. The conference brings together clinicians, hospital administrators, quality professionals and policymakers to exchange ideas, share best practices and learn from global experiences to promote continuous improvement in healthcare systems.

Dr. S. Manivannan, Organising Co-Chairperson of CAHOCON 2026 and Founder & Managing Director of Kauvery Group of Hospitals, said the conference will bring together clinicians, administrators, researchers and innovators from across the country, offering opportunities for collaboration, networking and discussions on practical solutions that can be implemented in healthcare institutions.

Dr. Sathish Devadoss, Organising Secretary of CAHOCON 2026 and Vice Chairman of Devadoss Multispecialty Hospitals, Madurai, noted that the conference will feature a wide range of scientific sessions covering emerging technologies, clinical practices and healthcare innovations, along with hands-on workshops aimed at equipping participants with practical skills to enhance patient care.

Dr. Ilankumaran Kaliamoorthy, Academic Committee Member for CAHOCON 2026 and CEO of Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, said the conference will feature a distinguished lineup of international and national speakers. Among them are Dr. Eyal Zimlichman, Deputy Director General and Chief Quality Officer at Sheba Medical Center, Israel, and Prof. David Bates, Chief of the Division of General Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, USA, who will share global perspectives on healthcare quality and patient safety.

CAHOCON 2026 has Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman of Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital, as Organising Chairperson, while Dr. Gurushankar, Chairman of Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre, serves as one of the Organising Co-Chairpersons.
