Kauvery Hospital, Vadapalani Becomes First in Tamil Nadu to Introduce Advanced 3D Technology for Treating Complex Arrhythmias
Chennai, January 08, 2026: Marking a major milestone in advanced cardiac care, Kauvery Hospital, Vadapalani, has become the first hospital in Tamil Nadu to introduce advanced electroanatomical mapping technology for the treatment of complex heart rhythm disorders. The new technology significantly enhances the diagnosis and treatment of challenging arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, originating in the upper chambers of the heart, and life-threatening ventricular tachycardia arising from the lower chambers.
The advanced system, along with a comprehensive suite of state-of-the-art cardiac electrophysiology technologies, was formally launched in the presence of actor R. Sarathkumar, Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Kauvery Group of Hospitals, and Dr. Deep Chandh Raja, Senior Consultant & Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at Kauvery Hospital, Vadapalani.

Kauvery Hospital has also launched the QDOT® catheter, a next-generation tool that delivers high-power, short-duration energy for faster and more controlled ablation in atrial fibrillation cases. Additionally, the nGEN® radiofrequency ablation system has been introduced to safely destroy heart tissue responsible for irregular electrical signals.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. R. Sarathkumar said, “I am happy that Kauvery Hospital, Vadapalani, is pioneering advanced approaches in the treatment of arrhythmias, helping patients lead healthier lives. Heart health is the foundation of overall well-being, and simple lifestyle practices such as proper diet, regular exercise, discipline, and stress management can go a long way in keeping the heart strong.”
Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj added, “These globally established technologies enable us to treat even the most challenging arrhythmia cases with higher safety and success rates. This initiative not only marks a major milestone for Kauvery Hospital but also positions Chennai on the global map for advanced arrhythmia care, ensuring world-class treatment is available closer to home.”
Explaining the clinical significance, Dr. Deep Chandh Raja said, “Arrhythmias occur when abnormal electrical circuits develop in the heart, leading to symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, breathlessness, or fainting. While many rhythm disorders can be treated with standard radiofrequency ablation, complex arrhythmias like atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia require advanced technology and specialised expertise. With these new launches, we are bringing some of the most sophisticated and effective treatments for heart rhythm disorders to Tamil Nadu—and in certain cases, to India—for the first time.”
