During the press meet, Sakthi introduced the players and informed the press as follows:
Kabaddi is one of the legendary traditional games of Tamil Nadu, which is known as "Sadukudu". It was initially started as part of combat training. It is a combined sport of body strength, voice strength, and breathing exercises. It originated in Tamil soil, but now it has been recognized as an international sport, growing across Asia, and has spread to other countries like Japan and China.

In Tamil Nadu players like Mr. Rajaratnam, Mr. Ganesan, Mr.Cheralathan, and Coach Baskaran have participated in the Kabaddi Tournament and they have added pride to the nation.

The Central and State Governments have been providing employment to Kabaddi players to promote the game of Kabaddi. The Indian Railways, ICF, Major ports, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, and other government sectors are playing an important role in this. Similarly, the promotion of private companies in Tamil Nadu such as the popular Tamil daily "Thandi" Group and Sun Paper Mill has been a great gift to the players. And apart from these, some private companies are employing Kabaddi players and sponsoring the teams and also few International Corporates are supporting the players.

The Government of Tamil Nadu has always encouraged the sports and also made excellent arrangements to hold the Pro Kabaddi Tournament in Chennai, where the team "Tamil Thalivas" from Tamil Nadu has participated in the Pro Kabaddi Tournament.

Mariyappan Thangavelu, who is physically challenged won a GOLD MEDAL for the high jump at RIO OLYMPICS and has sought glory for INDIA. He also participated in the recent TOKYO OLYMPICS and added pride by winning a SILVER MEDAL in the high jump competition.

Chief Minister MK Stalin presented cash prizes to Mariappan in recognition of his achievement of winning two consecutive Olympic medals. He has also been honoured (TNPL) with government employment in the company.

In the game of Kabaddi, which can be challenged for good physical strength and sophisticated play skills, the physically challenged are now taking to the field to prove that "WE ARE NOT PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED, WE ARE THE ONES WHO BRING CHANGE IN THE GAME".

Four years ago, the National Level Sports Tournament for the Physically Challenged was held in Mangalore, Karnataka where the players brought light to the tournament, as they got the chance to showcase their talents and added pride. And for the last three years, our TAMIL NADU KABADDI TEAM has won the CHAMPIONSHIP'S TROPHY.

For the past two years, the sports tournament has not been held due to Corona, but this year, Tamil Nadu welcomes and encourages "THE HEALER FOUNDATION" to identify the best players in the field of physically challenged.

For this sports tournament, 224 athletes with coaches, and managers from 16 states of India are participating in the 4th National Level Senior Men's Kabaddi Championship for the Physically Challenged which is organized by THE HEALER FOUNDATION, associating with The Paralympic Kabaddi Federation of India and the Tamil Nadu Physically Challenged Kabaddi Association at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium Chennai from April 29, 30 and May 1 at the Chennai Nehru Indoor Stadium.
