Chennai, March 30, 2026: Mar Gregorios College of Arts & Science (MGC) Mogappair West Chennai, proudly managed by the Malankara Syrian Catholic Trust, today conducted its 29th Annual Day Celebration.

Upholding its motto, “Let Your Light Shine,” the institution brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests for a day of celebration and achievement. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Most Rev. Dr. Mathews Mar Pachomios, Bishop of Saint Ephrem, Khadki Pune, and the Guest of Honour, Rev.Fr. George Vettikattil, Local Manager.

The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. R. Srikanth, Principal, and Rev.Fr.Mathew Pallikunnel, Secretary, with Professor T E Phillips serving as Director of Academics, Prof. R Selvi and Dr S James Benedict Felix as Convenors, and Prof. R Anitha as Co-Convenor.

Chennai, March 24, 2026: In a landmark advancement for cardiac care in India, Madras Medical Mission (MMM) has successfully performed the country’s first implantation of the Evaheart Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), while also achieving a global first with the implantation of the latest-generation Evaheart 3 model. The breakthrough procedure offers renewed hope for patients suffering from end-stage heart failure with limited treatment options. The procedure was carried out on a 42-year-old man who presented with severe chest pain and breathlessness and was diagnosed with a massive heart attack that caused extensive damage to the heart muscle.
