Chennai, March 7, 2026: Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, one of Asia’s largest and most respected diabetes care networks, has launched its Genomic Lifestyle Counselling (GLC) program, an innovative initiative that integrates genetic insights with personalized lifestyle interventions to support the prevention and management of metabolic diseases.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. V. Mohan, Chairman, said healthcare is rapidly shifting from a generalized approach to precision-based care. He noted that advances in genomic science now enable clinicians to understand an individual’s susceptibility to conditions such as Type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease, allowing interventions to be tailored with greater accuracy and improving long-term health outcomes.

Highlighting the growing burden of diabetes and obesity in India, Dr. Mohan said initiatives like Genomic Lifestyle Counselling represent an important step toward predictive, preventive, and personalized healthcare.

Dr. R. M. Anjana, Managing Director, explained that the GLC program combines genomic risk assessment with structured lifestyle modification plans, including personalized diet strategies, physical activity guidance, and behavioural counselling. This integrated approach helps identify risks early and equips individuals with evidence-based strategies aligned with their genetic predispositions.

Dr. Geeta Dharmatti, Nutrigenomic Counsellor, added that the program applies nutrigenomics to design customized nutrition plans based on gene–nutrient interactions, ensuring dietary recommendations are aligned with each person’s metabolic profile while providing ongoing counselling support to improve adherence and measurable health outcomes.

The launch reinforces Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre’s commitment of over 35 years to research-driven innovation and comprehensive diabetes care, further advancing the adoption of precision medicine in preventive healthcare in India.

Chennai, February 09, 2026: Building on the global momentum around World Cancer Day, Apollo Cancer Centre, Chennai and Apollo Proton Cancer Centre have launched the ‘ZERO TO HERO’ campaign to raise awareness about Stage Zero cancer detection and its critical role in improving survival and recovery outcomes. Cancer incidence in India continues to rise sharply, with over 15 lakh new cases reported in 2024, as per ICMR–NCRP data presented in Parliament. With one in nine Indians now facing a lifetime risk of cancer, the disease has emerged as a major public health challenge.
