Now in its ninth edition, the Penang Roadshow to India continues to serve as a strategic platform for sustained market engagement, business matching and destination promotion. India remains one of Penang’s most important and resilient source markets. As of November 2025, Penang welcomed over 42,367 Indian visitors, propelling India from outside the top 10 in 2024 to one of Penang’s top six international source markets, underscoring its growing strategic importance ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VM2026).

Further enhancing accessibility is Malaysia’s continued visa exemption for Indian nationals until 31 December 2026, reinforcing Penang’s competitiveness as a convenient and attractive destination. Beyond leisure tourism, Penang has demonstrated strong performance in business events, hosting over 2,900 events up to November 2025 and generating an estimated economic impact of RM1.3 billion, reflecting the destination’s mature ecosystem, robust infrastructure and professional capabilities.

With Visit Malaysia Year 2026 set to be a defining milestone for the national tourism industry, initiatives such as the Penang Roadshow to India 2026 play a vital role in deepening partnerships, building market confidence and ensuring Penang remains top-of-mind among global travel and events stakeholders. PCEB remains committed to strategic market development and sustainable growth, positioning Penang for continued success on the global stage.
