Chennai Institute of Technology and Bisleri International Set Guinness World Record with Largest Human Recycling Logo

January 21, 2026: Chennai Institute of Technology (CIT), in collaboration with Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd., has created a Guinness World Record for the Largest Human Recycling Logo Formation, bringing together 5,037 students to promote environmental awareness and responsible waste management. The feat surpassed the previous record of 3,373 participants set by CIPET, Chennai, in 2019.

The initiative symbolised collective responsibility towards recycling and sustainability, highlighting the importance of circular economy practices through large-scale youth participation. Mr. K. Ganesh, Director – Sustainability and Corporate Affairs, Bisleri International, said the achievement reflects the power of collaboration and youth-driven action in inspiring behavioural change around recycling and responsible plastic use.

Mr. P. Sriram, Chairman, Chennai Institute of Technology, called it a proud moment for both the institution and the city, noting that the initiative strongly aligns with CIT’s focus on sustainability, student engagement, and social responsibility, while giving students a chance to be part of a globally recognised environmental movement.
