𝘙𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘵 3234 𝘏𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴 𝘖𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘝𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘌𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘈𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴
Chennai: Rotary District 3234 celebrated the inspiring contributions of exceptional individuals in various sectors with its annual Vocational Excellence Awards. A total of 18 remarkable achievers were recognized for their outstanding work in diverse fields, such as farming, lake restoration, ocean cleaning, empowering the disabled, education for underprivileged children, and providing free eye surgeries ,making artisanal pickles etc.

The awards ceremony was the culmination of an extensive selection process, during which 35 Rotary Clubs nominated a total of 60 candidates. The distinguished honorees were carefully chosen for their commitment to service and the positive impact they’ve made in their respective communities.
Lifetime Achievement Awards were also presented to four individuals whose contributions have left a lasting mark on their fields:
- Mr. B. Santhanam, CEO of Saint-Gobain, for his exemplary leadership in the industry.
- Dr. U. Kamachi Mudali, for his groundbreaking work in metallurgy and materials science.
- Ms. Viji Krishnan, an acclaimed violinist and daughter of the legendary T.N. Krishnan, for her excellence in music.
- Ms. Geeta Dharmarajan, founder of Katha.org, for her transformative work in storytelling and education.
In addition, Dr. Saundarya Rajesh was honoured for her pioneering contributions in the field of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) through the Avtar Group. The event was graced by the presence of District Governor Saravanan, who emphasized Rotary’s commitment to honoring individuals who make meaningful contributions to society, both locally and globally. His leadership and vision were instrumental in making this event a success.
Vocational Excellence Award were also given to 3 distinguished winners by Rotary International District 3234.
