Chennai, December 17, 2024: A 30-feet tall Christmas tree decorated with colorful lights was held at the Santhome Cathedral Basilica in Santhome, Chennai. The ceremony was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. George Antonysamy, Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore with Fr. Vincent Chinnadurai, Rector and Parish Priest of Santhome Cathedral Basilica. On this occasion, Most Rev. Dr. George Antonysamy, consecrated the Christmas tree and lit it.

After that, Most Rev. Dr. George Antonysamy met with the media and said, Today, a 30 feet high Christmas tree has been erected in this cathedral complex and taken out.  I express my happiness that this Christmas tree has been erected to give us hope and light in life.

He further said that this Christmas tree will help us become a symbol of love to give hope in the lives of others and give light to life. The event featured the tallest Christmas tree among the churches in Chennai, installed by Team Santa Stores.
